However, he also has the potential to be a valuable field safety, with the ability to read deep passes and contest them effectively.

Furthermore, he demonstrates good gather steps and exhibits effective and coordinated snap-down techniques. The screen game is another area where Hampton excels, with his highlights featuring bubbles and tunnels.

A Tenacious Competitor

One of Hampton’s standout qualities is his aggressive and competitive nature on the field. He approaches every play with a relentless drive to compete for the football. His ability to track the deep ball is impressive, and his lower body explosiveness allows him to generate separation with his athleticism and hip explosion. Once he secures the ball, Hampton becomes a menace in open space, consistently gaining yards after the catch. He maintains great balance on contact and keeps his legs moving, always striving to finish every run. Hampton’s three-phase playing style is further highlighted by his excellent return skills, as showcased in his return highlights. Defensively, Hampton displays physicality in run support, making impactful plays against opposing ball carriers.

A Comfortable Fit at Texas

Hampton’s commitment to Texas was influenced by his positive experiences with the program. In June, he expressed his satisfaction with the official visit, stating, “Texas was great, man. I’ve been to Texas like 10 times. The OV was great. The coaches were great. I feel very comfortable at Texas”.Hampton told  On3. Throughout the recruitment process, multiple coaches from the Texas staff were involved in pursuing Hampton, suggesting that they saw his potential to contribute on either side of the ball.

A Highly Sought-After Prospect

Among these offers were 21 Power 5 programs, including seven future SEC members. This level of interest speaks volumes about his abilities and the impact he could have on the field.

Impressive High School Career

Hampton’s dominance extends beyond the recruiting scene and into his high school career. As a sophomore, he was named the 10-3A Co-Utility Player of the Year and earned 3A First-team All-State defensive back honors. Following the 2022 season, Hampton was recognized as the 11-3A Co-Most Valuable Player. His junior season statistics speak for themselves, with 55 receptions for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns.
