Recruiting Trail: Top 2024 Safeties Sleepers to Know on the Rise

As the 2023 high school football season approaches, many talented players are already being touted as the next big thing. However, there are always a few players who fly under the radar – at least for a little while. Here are some Texas high school football players from the class of 2024 who we believe are currently sleeper safties recruits to know or under the radar, but not for long.

1. Malik Esquerra – Defensive Back, Shoemaker High School
Malik is a talented defensive back with great speed and agility. He has a knack for reading the quarterback’s eyes and making big plays on the ball. Malik is also a hard worker and is constantly looking to improve his technique.

2. Reid Watkins – Defensive Back, All Saints Episcopal School
Reid is a natural leader with excellent coverage skills and great instincts. He has the ability to play both man and zone coverage effectively.

3. JT Anderson – Defensive Back, Paetow High School
JT is a versatile defensive back with great size and speed. He has the ability to play both safety and cornerback effectively. JT is also a hard worker and is constantly looking to improve his technique.

4. Ashton Williams – Defensive Back, Byron Nelson High School
Ashton is a physical defensive back with great size and strength.  Ashton is also a hard hitter and is able to disrupt plays in the passing game.

5. Ashton Hampton – Defensive Back, Pearland High School
Ashton is a hard-hitting defensive back with great instincts and awareness. He is a sure tackler and has the ability to make plays all over the field. Ashton is also a great leader and is able to motivate his teammates to perform at their best.

6. Jaylen Moses – Defensive Back, Newman Smith High School
Jaylen is a talented defensive back with great coverage skills and instincts. He has a natural ability to read the quarterback’s eyes and make plays on the ball. Jaylen is also a dedicated student of the game and is always looking for ways to improve his skills.

7. William Mitchell – Defensive Back, Fort Bend Marshall High School
William is a physical defensive back with great size and strength. William is also a great teammate and is always looking to help his fellow players improve their skills.

8. JD Crisp – Defensive Back, Second Baptist School
JD is a talented defensive back with great coverage skills and instincts. He has the ability to play both man and zone coverage effectively. JD is also a hard worker and is constantly looking to improve his technique.

9. Carter Jenkins – Defensive Back, Willis High School
Carter is a versatile defensive back with great speed and agility.  Carter is also a great student of the game and is constantly looking for ways to improve his skills.

These are just a few of the many talented high school football players in Texas who are currently flying under the radar. With hard work and dedication, these players have the potential to make a big impact in the near future and become household names in the world of Texas high school football.
