HOUSTON – In the first half it was 21 – 7 North Shore. The North Shore football teams defense proved too much for Atacoictas in the first half of the ball game and throughout the rest of the game. The final outcome? 43-20 North Shore.

Atascocitas sophomore quarterback Zion Brown was rattled to say the very least facing a very tough North Shore defense.  The defensive back field for North Shore was not giving up anything  to recievers and the defense was in Zion’s face not giving him anytime time of day to make a play.

North Shores offense was racking up yards at seemingly at will with running back Xavier Owens Jr. running the ball and quarterback Kaleb Bailey along with him.

Bailey stepped in for Quarterback Wyndell Mitchell who was not seen much of in this game as well as North Shroe’s defensive back, Denver Harris who’s presence was missed the entire game.

Nonetheless, Bailey stepped up and showed he could lead the Mustang offense down the field. The defense for the Mustangs was lockdown and caused pressure all night long. Quarterback Zion Brown, and that Atascocita offense , with weapons like senior wide receiver Keith Wheeler ,and Chase Sowell, just could not keep the momentum in their favor or get anything going, but they didn’t go down without a fight and fought till the scoreboard hit zero.

North Shore will face the winner of San Antonio Brennan or Austin Lake Travis from the central Texas 6A Region 4 area. Both teams feature high powered offenses. Those two teams will play today, December 4th at 2pm and that is when we will get to see who will face the North Shore Mustangs football team in the State Texas High School football Semi-finals. The winner will advance to the State 6A championship game.
