In a move that solidifies their future defensive line, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have received a commitment from 2023 Argyle Defensive Tackle Riley Van Poppel. Riley had 23 division I offers before choosing the Huskers and is considered a four-star prospect by 247sports and others. Van Poppel is 6’4″ and 270 pounds and can play both sides of the football. This latest commitment gives Nebraska 2023 class now ranked 24th in the nation by 247 Sports.

Offers for Van Poppel included schools like Michigan, Arkansas, Cal, SMU and others but in the end, he chose to leave his home state of Texas and head to Nebraska to play for the Huskers. This is a huge get for Nebraska and one that should help them compete for a Big Ten title in the coming years by continually adding 4-star prospects like Van Poppel.

What do you think of this latest commitment for the Huskers? Let us know in the comments below!
