MELISSA, Texas —— 2023 6’7 offensive linemen Trevor Goosby has committed to TCU university.
Goosby, a rising star last year and this spring saw his recruiting take off last year after making a name for himself as one of the top offensive linemen prospects in the class of 2023.
With only three division I offers coming into the start of the year, Goosby recruiting has taken a turn for the best and has been on the rise ever since. TCU was some of the very first to offer back in January of this year along with a few others. Since then Goosby has picked up offers from SMU, JSU, Colorado State, Texas State, and others before ultimately committing to the horned frogs in TCU.
The horned frogs may have wanted to lock up one of their most targeted recruits on the offensive line in Goosby who has made numerous visits to TCU and was obviously impressed every time with the visit.
Just because Goosby is committed doesn’t mean others will stop recruiting him. If anything the recent commitment to TCU has probably spurred a lot of interest from others around the country in the big 12 and other conferences.
We caught up with Goosby and asked about his recruiting journey and he responded ” It was a good experience and journey for me and I learned a lot from it.” Goosby said. Professionals in the industry, parents, and athletes can tell you that the process is not always easy; there is a lot of patience, perseverance, and a certain type of faith matched with a work ethic to keep pushing through and eventually for some — it pays off.
For Melissa, they have an FBS caliber athlete with next-level size and skills already. Goosby will undoubtedly be the anchor of that offensive line this season and the most-watched.
“For me, TCU was a good option because it checked all of the boxes on my list and they were rocking with me since I was 6’5 245 (Goosby is now 6’7 / 280 lbs). Coach Ricker is a great coach and a great person and he was a good fit for me.” Goosby said about his decision to take his talents to TCU.
