In a major recruiting win for the Kansas football program, three-star wide receiver Keaton Kubecka has announced his commitment to the Jayhawks. Kubecka, who is 6’2″ and 195 pounds, chose Kansas over 12 other offers from schools such as Houston, Navy and Tulane. This is a huge get for head coach Lance Leipold and it looks like the Jayhawks are off to a strong start in the class of 2023.

Keaton is an athlete that also competes in track and field. As a junior in March 2022, he ran a 23.20 200 and jumped 17-8.75 in the long jump as a member of Austin Westlake’s undefeated team. 2021: An Austin Westlake squad that won the Texas 6A D-I state championship as a sophomore got varsity experience.

Kubecka is a three-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite and he is the No. 168 wide receiver in the class of 2023. He joins three-star quarterback Gabe Simpson as commitments in Kansas’ 2023 recruiting class. With his size and speed, Kubecka has the potential to be a big playmaker for the Jayhawks offense. He will be a welcome addition to a Kansas team that is looking to make noise in the Big 12 conference.

Kubecka is a very exciting receiver to watch that is a mismatch nightmare for most. He is quick of the LOS, sh0ws quick feet, and can make the field turf fly up when he runs his routes. He has nasty cuts that can brake ankles, he’s a got soft hands and can block as well, a very vestal tile player that could even play tight end or outside receiver at the next level and dominate.
