Maurice Williams, a highly rated four-star safety from Bellaire, Texas, has decommitted from Louisiana State University (LSU) and has committed to staying in his hometown to play for the University of Houston

LSU has lost the commitment of Maurice Williams, a four-star safety from Shadow Creek High School in Bellaire, Texas. Williams had previously committed to the Tigers on June 18, 2022, but has since changed his decision. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which uses a weighted average of all major recruiting media companies, Williams is currently ranked as the No. 118 overall prospect and No. 6 safety in the 2024 cycle. He is also ranked as the No. 24 player in Texas.
