Williams had previously committed to the Tigers on June 18, 2022, but has since changed his decision. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which uses a weighted average of all major recruiting media companies, Williams is currently ranked as the No. 118 overall prospect and No. 6 safety in the 2024 cycle. He is also ranked as the No. 24 player in Texas.
