DFW Offensive Players of the Week

DFW – Every week this season we have kept close watch over the top performers of this season. we scan over hundreds of games, scores, stats, film, etc to bring you and a spotlight to the top performers from not only the DFW area but the entire state. If you are looking for some of the top defensive recruits we have those guys too. Here are some of the top Offensive Players of the Week from week 8 of the Texas high school football season. 

 

Offensive Players

 

Cole Matsuda (23) | QB | Nolan Catholic

8 completions and 4 of those going for touchdowns and 177 yards passing and only 1 int on the night.

 

Damario Parks-Vinson (22)| WR | Nolan Catholic

Damario had one of his best performances of the season in last week’s game catching the ball four times and going for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night.

 

Ollie Gordon (22)| RB | Trinity

5 carries for 128 yards rushing, averaging 25.6 yards per carries in this one, and had 2 touchdowns on the night in Trinity’s 56-7 route over Chisholm Trail.

 

Sawyer Anderson (25) | QB | Parish Episcopal

20 completions on 24 attempts and throwing for 314 yards passing with 5 touchdowns and only 1 interception on the night.

 

Mike Hawkins (24)| QB | Allen

The second highest producer in the game offensively was Hawkins. Compiling up 235 of total offense, 135 yards passing and 100 yards rushing on the night with 2 total touchdowns one rushing and one passing.

 

Jaylen Jenkins (22)| RB | Allen

Jenkins had a total of 260 yards of total offense, almost 200 yards of them came on the ground rushing (187) and the rest came from receptions (73). Capping the night off with 3 total touchdowns leading the way in Allen’s victory over then-undefeated Guyer.

 

Ashton Jeanty (22)| RB | Lone Star Frisco

Jeanty had 170 yards rushing on 24 carries, averaging 7.1 yards per carrying, and aided in Lone Stars 33-3 victory Wakeland with 4 rushing touchdowns plus 5 receptions and 75 yards receiving.

 

Jadarian Price (22) | RB |Denison

19 carries for 167 yards rushing in the game.

 

Ismail Mahdi (22)| WR | Plano East

6 receptions for 128 yards plus 101 yards on 27 carries 3 total touchdowns, 2 rushing, and 1 receiving.

 

Chris Henley Jr. (22)| RB | DeSoto

26 carries for 170 yards passing snd 3 touchdowns on the night in DeSoto’s shutout victory over Cedar Hill 45-0.

 

Tristan Bittle (24)| RB | Martin

Teo sport athlete and aggies baseball commit is an athlete. In last week’s game, he went for 150 yards rushing in just 7 carries and had 2 touchdowns out of those 7 touches on the night.

 

Cj Nelson (22)| WR, QB, ATH | Richland

9 completions for 17 attempts and throwing for 217 yards plus rushing for 66 yards on 8 carries totaling 4 touchdowns equally split rushing and passing TDs.

 

Brennan Storer (23) | QB | Highland Park

 

Mason O’neal (23) | QB | Midlothian Heritage

14 carries for 123 yards tushing snd 4 touchdowns on the night rushing.

 

Weston Smith (23)| QB | Colleyville Heritage

At 6’5 Smith passes the eye test and does not disappoint in his play on the field. Smith had 217 yards passing completing 22 of 32 of his passes and scoring 2 touchdowns on the night. Leading his team to a 1 point victory 35-34 in a well-fought game against Mansfield Summit.

 

Dylan Raiola (24)| QB | Burleson

14 completions out of 20 attempts throwing for nearly 200 yards and completing 2 touchdowns in the endzone on the night.

 

Cergio Perez (22)| QB | Garland

Leading Garland to a shoot-out victory against Sachse, Perez would throw for over 323 yards and boost a completion rating of over 80 percent completing 20 out of 24 on the night. It was almost a perfect night for Perez, who totaled an amazing 7 touchdowns in the game, 6 passing, and 1 rushing .

 

Alex Orji (22)| QB | Sachse

Despite the loss, Orji still put out a valiant effort for Sachse totaling nearly 400 yards of offense in the night. 267 yards passing through the air and 132 yards rushing on the ground, competing 16 of 26 of his passes and throwing for 1 touchdown and 5 more on the ground. What a game it was against the Garland Owls.

 

Jordan Hudson (22)| WR | Garland

Hudson was one of the best receivers this last week with 7 receptions, 134 yards receiving, and 4 touchdowns. Jordan, the SMU commit, has been QB Cergio Perez’s favorite target all season long, and for good reason.

 

Kevin Henry Jenkins (22) | QB | South Oak Cliff

261 yards passing completing 11 attempts out of 17 and picking up 3 touchdowns on the night leading South Oak Cliff to a 62-14 victory over Seagoville

 

Hauss Henjy (24) WR / QB / ATH | Aledo

Haus had himself a very impressive night coming up with some big-time catches in the game and helping his team to a well-fought victory and remain undefeated on the season at 7-0.

 

Brayden Flower-Nicolosi (22) | QB | Aledo

Every week it feels like we have been mentioning Nicolosi because that’s how good he has been this season. Every week he is lighting up scoreboards and putting out impressive performances, this week was no different.

 

Kyle Parker (23) | WR | Lovejoy

Parker had an explosive game for Lovejoy, showcasing his supreme athleticism in his team’s 55-7 victory over Lake Dallas. Slashing his way through defenses, his speed and open-field moves after the catch proved to be too much in Lake Dallas’s defeat.

 

Alexander Franklin (24)| QB | Lovejoy

Franklin had burst onto the scene this season making himself a name to know in the 2024 class of quarterbacks. This guy can sling it, mechanics-wise he’s on point and joy to watch. Keep your eye in this prospect as interest for him will continue to rise.
