As we near the end of the Texas high school football playoffs we start to see the biggest and best teams face off against one another. Four teams from Central Texas have made it to the quarter-finals of the 6A playoffs (division 1 and 2). Here is a preview of those powerhouse matchups.

Top Games to Watch

Vandegrift Vipers (12-1) vs Westlake Chaparrals (13-0)

Brennan Bears (13-0) vs Lake Travis Cavaliers (11-2)

Game of the Week

Brennan Bears (13-0) vs Lake Travis Cavaliers (11-2)

This round-four matchup between two high-powered offenses is sure to be an exciting one. The undefeated Brennan Bears and star junior quarterback Ashton Dubose travel to Dripping Springs for a game against the Lake Travis Cavaliers who have only lost to teams who still remain in the playoffs (Rockwall and Westlake).

Dubose and the bears have rolled through their season accumulating over 3,000 yards and 51 touchdowns through the air this season. The Brennan passing offense has shared the love so far between three senior receivers Jaheim Lard, Arron Dubose, and Chase Campbell

The Cavaliers have just as much firepower on the offensive side of the ball but have focused more on the running game this season. With standout senior running back Derrick Johnson who rushed for over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns last week against United South, Lake Travis will take a very different approach to scoring points this week than the Bears.

Both teams have great talent and have the potential to win it all in this exciting quarterfinal game as the Brennan Bears take on the Lake Travis Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon.
