Round 3 of the Texas High School football playoffs was electric. We have some of the best recruit performances from last week’s games. Some of these players helped lead their teams to some pretty sizeable leads and were able to put some points up on the boards in bunches.
Here are some of the top Central Texas recruits that played well and gave their teams the best shot at keeping their season alive and a chance to earn a state championship ring.
Bo Edmundson (23) QB, Lake Travis
Lake Travis beat Laredo United South 35-19. Edmundson was 19-28 passing for 238 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Bo flashed his deep ball arm strength and timing with his receivers in this game making for some ESPN highlight-worthy replays. Bo has been one of the most impressive junior quarterbacks in the state of Texas this season. Holds 13 Division I offers to schools like Colorado, Houston, Kentucky, and Michigan State to name a few.
Derrick Johnson (22) S/RB, Lake Travis
Derrick Johnson is a Safety prospect on the defensive side of the ball but with no mistake, he can play offensive just as well. Johnson ran for 204 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.
Cade Klubnik (22) QB, Westlake
It was a perfect shutout for Westlake, they derailed PSJA North 56-0. Five-star Clemson Quarterback commit Cade Klubnik finished with a very impressive performance to say the least being 13-16 passing for 303 yards and five touchdowns on the night.

Dalton Brooks (23) ATH, Shiner
Junior athlete Dalton Brooks added 128 yards and two scores on 11 carries. He also caught two passes for 32 yards. One of the best athletes in the nation and state has been having himself one heck of a year. His latest offers since the start of the season have been Penn State, Texas Tech, Ohio State, Michigan, and Auburn.

Ashton Dubose (23) QB, Brennan
The San Antonio Brennan Bears defeated Austin Bowie 59-36. Junior Quarterback Ashton Dubose was spectacular in the game and completed 17-27 passing for 318 yards and six touchdowns. He added 85 yards and a score on 15 carries. Dubose is one of the most elite skilled dual-threat quarterbacks in the state that is very underrated. Colorado, UTSA, and others have shown interest.
Aaron Dubose (23) WR, Brennan
The Dubose brothers make for a lethal combination and last week was no different than the way it’s been for a couple of years now for the two. Dubose caught six passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns in Brennans 59-36 victory over Austin Bowie. Another under-recruited San Antonio talent who is an FBS caliber athlete has the frame at 6’3 and skills to play at the next level.
