Friday night is almost upon us and some of the very best gunslingers will be taking their field and hoping to lead their team to victory. The best talent in the central Texas area can be found here. Many thanks to all of the coaches and staff who take the time to add their players stats so we can identify which quarterbacks are performing at the highest level week in and week out. Here are some of the best Texas high school football recruits at the quarterback position to watch out for this week and the rest of this season.

Austin Novosad (23), Dripping Springs

Austin is rising to become one of the top quarterback recruits in the 2023 class. This season he’s been off to a hot start with nearly six hundred yards passing (580) this season and we are only in week two. Last game Austin put up an areal attack throw the air showcasing his talents for all to see with 295 yards passing and 4 touchdowns in Dripping Springs 70-40 victory over Hays. Basketball numbers I know. This past camp season in the summer,  no other athlete’s recruiting was on fire more than Austins earning offers from schools like Baylor, Houston, Rice and SMU to name a few. This QB will be a special one you will hear about for a long time.

Mason Shorb (23) , Rouse

Surprisingly Shorb does not have offers yet. I believe all of that will change this season because he is putting up some terrific numbers and showcased his abilities this off-season in 7-on-7 play. In the previous weeks game Shorb lead his team to victory with 423 yards passing through the air and 5 touchdowns. Yeah not a typo, count them 5 touchdowns on the night. This is an amazing quarterback that looks bigger than his height of almost 6’2″ , has a great deep balll, nice touch and good accuracy. This is a QB who could raise his stock tremendously this year and be a candidate of Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

JC Evans (24), Brandeis

One of the best underclassmen at the quarterback position in the class of 2024 is having himself a breakout year. Not many new about JC going into this season. I was able to meet JC in the offseason and loved this guys height and size already at 6’4″ and his arm straight, timing and decision making on the field. In the first couple of games JC has made other teams aware that he is a dual-threat quarterback that can hurt them with his legs or arm. He’s got some tremendous speed and can make people miss in the one field. JC can rifle passes into some tight spaces and score in bunches. Top ten in the 2024 class for me in the state and will be one who ends his high school career with 20-30 offers plus.

Ej Ezar (22), Rudder

Ej has been over looked a little because of his size at 5’11” but make no mistake this QB can play. Just as comfortable throwing on the run as in the pocket. Delivers nice catchable passes and doesn’t have to set his feet to throw a nice ball. FBS caliber athlete who will be fun to watch this season.

Cade Klubnik (22) , Westlake

Of course we can’t have top QBs lost with out the nations NO.1 QB himself. Cade Klubnik the Clemson Tigers commit has been putting on a spectacul for many to see this season. Bring the popcorn when you come to watch him play folks. Last game Cade threw for over 332 yards and 1 touchdowns on the night. Has nearly 550 yards and 4 touchdowns this season.

Rashawn Galloway (22), Boerne

Rashawn is a Texas State baseball commit who helped lead his team far into the playoffs last season. This season looks like the trail might be rolling in the same direction. Average size quarterback with a rocket of an arm.
