Cypress (TX.) — 2023 Cy Ranch High School defensive end Ashton Porter has committed to the Oregon Ducks. The announced comes during the halftime show of the Under Armour All-American Bowl in Orlando, FL.
There are now five four-star defensive linemen in Oregon’s 2023 recruiting class with the addition of Porter. He joins A’mauri Washington, Blake Purchase and fellow Texas natives Johnny Bowens and Terrance Green.
The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive star had a a top of five of Oregon, Michigan State, TCU, Houston, and Mississippi State back in November. He would then go to narrow his commitment focus down to just two: Oregon and Michigan State.
Porter, a former Northwestern commit is bery physical polayer and can get after the quarterback or come up with tackles for losses in the backfield. Violent hand moves, and quick off the line. He is a problem for most.
Porter took his most recent trip Eugene on Dec. 16 for his official visit, his second trip, and finally called Eugene, Oregon home.
