HOUSTON – Last week were some exciting matchups and we have some recaps of the top recruit performances from the big games of last week. Here are some of the top performers of last week from the Houston area.

Big Game Recaps

CE King (6-2) vs North Shore (8-1)

Klein Cain (7-2) vs Klein Oak (3-5)

Grand Oaks (5-3) vs The Woodlands (6-2)

(updated records)

The Woodlands take the Victory

Grand Oaks 20 vs The Woodlands 49

Game Recap: The Woodland Highlanders whent into this game all business and put on an offensive clinic.

Quarterback Mabrey Mettauer when off during game with 16 completions for 24 attempts and throwing for nearly 400 yards on the night (399) and 6 touchdowns. (4 passing and 2 rushing) . Mabrey had help from receiver Ben Ferguson who was one of Mabreys favorite targets in the night racking up 6 completions for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns  .

Grand oaks just couldnt seem to stop the momentum of the Highlanders and that high powered ariel attack. Mettauer had one of the top quarterback performances in the state.

North Shore Remains Nearly Perfect

CE King vs North Shore

Game Recap: North Shores offense has been bery consistent on offense this season picking up yards when they needed too.

Quarterback Wyndell Mitchell has been a dominant dual-threat force who can make defenses oay with his legs or arm. Junior wide receiver David Amador has been one of his favorite targets and been a breakout recruit this season.

CE Kings rushing game which is usually has been special this season was kept quiet by North Shores defense who have a stacked defense featuring multiple division I prospects like senior defensive back Caleb Flagg, DB Denver Harris and junior DB Jacoby Davis.

Klein Cain Proves Tough

Klein Cain vs Klien Oak

Game Recap: Klein Oak continues to struggle this season. They have offensive weapons but just have not been able to string things together because of the injury bug and other problems.

Klein Cain has been clicking on all cylinders this season, perticarly on offense, with a well balanced russhing and areal attack. They have been hard to stop this season.

Leading the way and having a breakout season, is one of my favorite prospects who’s tape speaks for its self. Senior quarterback Carson Roper has showcased and emerged as a dual-threat FBS quarterback recruit to know this season.

Roper has been nearly terrific every week and last week wasn’t any different, — Roper was able to pick up 10 completions out of 15 attempts with 166 yards passing and had 18 carries go for 90 yards rushing and a total of 3 touchdown ( 2 rushing and 1 passing).

However, much credit can be given to the rushing performance of senior running back Drew Stokes, stokes had with 117 yards and 1 touchdown on just 8 carries on the night, and also running back Ramir McCray has been contributing big time this season as well with nearly 1,000 yards rushing (968)and 14 touchdowns.
