2023 New Year Rankings: 2024 Safeties

Today we send you into the weekend on todays date with a look at some of the top safeties in the nation and in Texas. Most on this list can also be considered some of the best athletes in the country, let alone the state, that play multiple positions, and dominate.

Here are some of Texas High School footballs top 20, and watchlist 2024 Safeties in the state.

On-field top-end speed looks very encouraging, and impressive with the ability to close in on ball carriers in a hurry and shut down plays in the open field or backfield. Kelly’s physical nature translates to tackling ability, and coverage skills, which are only a few things that make Kenyan special, not to mention his ideal, height and size for playing multiple positions at the next level on defense.

#9. Ranked CB (TX.) Landyn Cleveland (24) | 6-0 / 185 | S | Mansfield Legacy

Landyn can take some guys heads off when tackling; a hard hitting safety who can also make plays when the football is in the air in his area. Looks like he can covert entire back-half of the football field, and make quarterbacks pay when they throw his way. Has earned 18 total division I offers from schools like Auburn, TCU, and the Texas Longhorns to name a few.

Flowers is a ball hawking defensive back who you will find making plays all over the field. Speed, and agility is elite, breaks in front of the football, looks light on his feet and sinks hips well. Versatile player who can play corner or safety and dominate. Holds 16 division I offers from schools like Baylor and Michigan State, to name a couple.

#7. Ranked CB (TX.) Paul Mencke Jr. (24) | 6-2 / 175 | S | Samuel Clemens

Ideal corner size with impressive strength already.One who can come flying off the edge on blitz and wreck havoc in offensives backfields. Highly productive player with a ton of potential as a jammer DB.  Holds 11 division I offers to schools liked Arizona, Colorado, Houston, and others.

Dodson is a playmaker, a great form tackler an excellent in coverage. Shows a high motor, and pursuit to the ball. Holds 20 division one offers to schools like LSU, Oregon, Texas, and others.

A hard hitting safety, who drives well in front of passes  and knows how to bait quarterbacks to throw his way.  also an athlete who can play all over the field and make plays.Has 16 total offers from schools like Colorado, Georgia , Tennessee, and others

#4. Ranked CB (TX.) Jaydan Hardy (24) | 6′ / 170 | S | Lewisville

an athlete who can make a contribution all over the field. Hardy could easily be ranked as the number one corner or safety. Can make plays on all sides of the ball, often special teams, and defense, very physical within routes, and can jam receivers off the routes and come up with big plays, and make them look routine. Schools like Alabama, Florida, LSU, Oregon, and others have all offered.

#3. Ranked CB (TX.)Xavier Filsaime (24) | 6-1 / 185 | S | McKinney

 One of the most athletic safeties, that can cover the entire back half of the field by himself. Not afraid to come downhill, and lay the lumber. Backpedal, and can trail receivers, and make a play on the football either with an I NT, or TFL. Holds offers to schools like Baylor, Florida State, and Georgia. 

#2. Ranked CB (TX.)Maurice Williams (24) | 6’1″ / 185 | S, LB | Shadow Creek

A hard hitting hybrid, safety, who can play in the box like a linebacker, or come down the hill and leave the lumber on the fenders. Coverage is elite, and speed. Williams will go on to do great things at the next level either at safety or linebacker.  Currently  in a committed to LSU.Could be a multi-year starter at any top program in the country.

#1. Ranked CB (TX.) Corian Gipson (24) | 5-11 /165 | S | Lancaster

No one covers the back half of the field better than Gibson. One of the most hard, hitting, fast, and elite players on the field at any time. Will see immediate success at the next level. Holds 35 offers, and is uncommitted at the moment.Projects to high-major level with long-term early-round NFL Draft potential. Currently has earned 35 total division I offers and can go play any where in the country at some of the top programs in the country.
