RJ Maryland was originally committed to Boston College, which he took to Twitter to confirm on June 28th of last year.
The de-commitment from Boston College came ten days after he received an offer from right in his own backyard in SMU.
Maryland had a total of 25 division I offers from schools across the country like Miami, Michigan State, Tennessee, Utah, and others.
Last season, RJ put on a clinic and was one of his quarterback’s favorite targets. He put up 1,100 yards receiving 62 receptions and 14 total touchdowns.
SMU continues to do well in the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes and they pick a track star of a tight end, who is very versatile on the field and can lineup as a wide receiver on the outside or as a tight end. He is dangerous in his routes, can beat most DBs in a foot race, and is a mismatch for most linebackers. Will have a high ceiling in college
