The Texas High School football season is almost underway and we couldn’t be more excited to see all of the talents in action as the season progresses throughout the year. We have highlighted some of the best big guys up front who typically do not get any of the glory and or spotlight that comes with playing in the trenches.

We are here to bring a spotlight to those athletes who handle business on and off the field. Regardless of stars or rankings., if an athlete is a really good competitor and are good character guys, that’s who we want. So let’s dive right into the list of some of the top offensive line prospects in the state and who will be opening up holes for their running backs and keeping their quarterback’s jerseys clean this season.

Prospects on the Rise

Dameon Smallwood  | 6’4″ 330 | Denison

This Denison offensive tackle has FBS talent and size. I think if he trims down and leans out this could be prominent linemen at the next level. Blocks well in the running game, he can put some linemen in the dirt on their backs and pass blocks well. Shows a good first-punch, footwork and technique could use some improvement. Overall, Dameon should be a leader on that offensive line this season and help open up some holes for running backs.

Ian Langford | 6’4″ 270 | Hebron

Langford handles business on & off the field boosting a 3.8 GPA. He is without a doubt an FBS-level talent who looks very athletic on the field and can pull around and kick out the edge or block at the next level. He shows good technique all around in the passing and running game. Look for him to rack up plenty of pancakes this season for Hebron.

ImageTyler Lee | 6’3″ 280 | Tomball

Lee may very well be one of the most underrated offensive linemen in the 2022 class. He is a terrific prospect/ recruit who holds 12 division I offers to schools like Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, Marshall, and Texas State to name a few. He’s got speed, strength, and solid technique. He’s a bulldozer and bullies on that offensive line. He can pull and get out in space or open up holes in the middle. A special player who will be special at the next level and possibly beyond.

ImageAustin Lopez  | 6’3″ 265 | Allen

Austin is one lineman who could raise to the top of a lot of recruiting boards. He shows some impressive footwork in both pass blocking & run blocking. Seeing him perform in person at a camp held this year. I was most impressed with his athleticism, long arms, and ability to pass block. Allen’s offensive line looks strong this year and is one unit to watch. Offers include MSU, NW Oklahoma State, and SW Minnesota. Many more are interested.

James Dawn  | 6’3″ 310 | New Braunfels

Dawn is a terrific offensive lineman who deserves a lot of stars and accolades because of his talent. He looks bigger than 6’3 on the field. He can pull and kick out. Has good speed, athleticism, and long arms. Is very proficient in the run and passing game. Should be strong did the unicorns this season. Holds 12 division I offers to schools like Geamvling state, Houston Baptist, and UIW to name a few.
