Star WR Caleb Douglas decommits from USC, re-opens Recruitment

By:

Three-star Fort Bend Hightower wideout Caleb Douglas has long been one of the most sought-after, under-rated, star senior wide receiver recruits in the entire nation and now his recruitment is 100 percent back open.

First the Decommit from Baylor

Douglas holds a total of 20 division I offers, he committed to the Baylor Bears back in June of this year. Two months after the announcement,  he went to Twitter to make his announcement that he would decommit from Baylor .

“After much discussion with my family and those closest to me, I have decided to decommit from Baylor University and re-open my recruitment. Please respect my decision..” Douglas said.

The Commitment

Five days after Caleb Douglas made the announcement that he would be decommitting from the Baylor bears he announced that he would be taking his talents to the University of Southern California and playing for a storied traditional program in the USC trojans.

The first trip to USC back in September of this year, Douglas said he “felt great being at home” and looked like he had a wonderful visit.

Decommitment Announcement from USC

The announcement of the new head coach in former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley may have played a large role in the decommitment because the night that the new head coach landed in southern California, the next day Douglas made his decision that he would re-open his recruitment and decommit from the USC Trojans.

What’s Next?

We will see what’s next for the senior wide receiver, the offer from Baylor seems to still be on the table and a viable option. The coaching worlds of college football have changed so much recently that a new offer and or commit could be on the horizon for Douglas at any moment.
