The Recruiting Trail: recruit reaction of Aggies victory over Bama and their visit to Kyle field

By:

COLLEGE STATION – This weekend something crazy happened. Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher was able to become the very first former assistant coach to beat former mentor head coach Nick Saban in what would be a shocking victory that would make history for ever. Some of the nations top recruits just happened to be in attendance. Little did they know they would be witnessing history take place as the Aggies beat the Crimson tide 41-37 in a well fought game and arguably one of the Aggies best games of the year thus far, or ever. We’ve got their thoughts and reactions on the game and how their experience was at Kyle field as they got to see an incredible game unfold before their eyes.

One of Klein Cains young offensive linemen recruits in offensive tackle Gibson Pyle, who is just sophomore but holds many interest from schools like Ole Miss, Texas A&M and others. Just recently earned his first offer from the USC trojans. This is what Gibson had to say about the game. “The energy at A&M is like no other school. The college traditions and the crowd environment there was electric. Made me feel like I was playing. A&M definitely proved a lot with that game and a good win. “

What a good win it was for the Aggies, most certainly one that surprised and shocked the college football world. We later asked Gibson his thoughts on the coaching staff and Kyle field. “Overall impression of the aggies is great, Kyle field was very impressive and the new facilities were extremely nice. Loved the coaches as well very cool staff”

Another standout recruit was watching in the crowd. We caught up with another young sophomore recruit in Willis DJ Lagway who is one of the top quarterbacks in the nation in the 2024 cycle.

Lagway had this to say about his visit ” It was an amazing atmosphere to be in!! The crowd was insane from the chants, waves, and cheers, It was so loud and It was so electric! I had to put my fingers in my ears a few times because it was just that loud in there!!”

“Coach Jimbo called a great game , the offense executed, and the defense was a force all night making plays!! To be able to be apart of that moment tonight and to watch them do what they did in person really showed me A&M is a very special place!! To have an offer from them already and knowing that I too can be a part of something like that definitely has them as one my top schools right now.” Lagway would go on to say.

Also in attendance besides ex Aggies star quarterback Johnny Manziel, was one of the best running backs in the nation in El Campo’s Rueben Owens there to watch both teams that have offered him in Texas A&M and Alabama, as well as 34 other division I programs. Some of the nations best got to experiences one of the best games Kylie field has witness in a very long time. I believe Coach Jimbo Fisher saw the opportunity here to make a impact and there’s no doubt about him doing just that beating his mentor on a stage so big with so many very important eyes watching.
