As the Texas High School football season comes close to end we highlight a few select senior wide receiver recruits that deserve a spotlight and have performed well this season.
The following recruits have shown some big play-making ability out of the backfield and are some top senior wide receivers recruits to know here in Texas.
The following wideouts are some of the best uncommitted senior wide receivers in Texas. First up we take a look at:
Jonah Wilson (23) | 6-2/195 | WR | Dekaney
It’s no secret who the most talented player on the market is in the class of 2023 at the wide receiver position, and that is Wilson. The four-star prospect per 247sports holds 16 division I offers from schools like Texas, Baylor, and Arkansas among others. Will be interested to see where this start wideout ends up committing to after originally being committed to the Texas Longhorns, Wilson raised his stock significantly last season and was one of the biggest risers of last season because of his talented ability and size.
Jameson Garcia (23) | 6-1/190 | WR | Amarillo
Jameson might very well be one of the most underrated and recruited athletes on this list. He holds 8 current division I offers from schools like Colorado State, New Mexico State, and Washington State, among others that recently offered. Jameson is an endzone threat and has the speed and agility to create separation for himself and take the football the way for house calls on a regular basis. We love the size, quickness of the LOS, and route running of this receiver.

Louis Williams (23) | 6’/160| WR | Conroe
Louis has 7 division I offers, a has had an impressive career thus far with over 110 receptions, 2260 yards receiving, and 20 touchdowns, and those two-year stats do not include this season. Williams can pick up the yards after the catch and make a lot of people miss on his way into the end zone. A sneaky receiver, who could be special in the short to the intermediate passing game as well as vertically deep down the field. Louis with some further development of his route running could be a lethal player every time he touches the football whether on offense or special teams.
Dylan Apponey (23) | 6’/170 | WR, ATH | Foster
Dylan looks light on his feet and cut the field turf up with his route-running ability. He can be used out of the backfield at running back, or at slot receiver and can be great vertically down the field with his speed and agility. Has been a great target for Foster quarterback JT Fayard this season for Foster.
Gavin HarrisĀ (23′) | 6-3/210 | WR | Judson
Gavin is a very raw receiver in his route running, kind of an in-between guy of a tight end or wide receiver. I like him best at tight end, I think he counites to grow and ad more mass and improve his route running ability at the next level. He has already proven he has the size and physical capabilities playing against some tough competition for Judson. Like his ability to line up out wide, or on the line of scrimmage. Gavin can put his hand on the ground and be used as an extra blocker or pass catcher. Either way, his presents on the offensive line in the red zone makes him a matchup tough to beat. Without a doubt FBS caliber prospect.
Jonathan āJJā JohnsonĀ (23′) | 6′ /165 | WR | Judson
Johnson is a speedy receiver who runs nice clean routes and has broken out this season with some impressive performances on the season. He caught our attention with his speed and agility and awareness of the end zone. Shows some good ability to get off the line in a hurry and over top of corners in the blink of an eye.

Jaryan Wallace (23′) | 6-4/190 | WR | Braswell
Wallace might very well be one of the best wide receiver recruits on this list. He has a lengthy, athletic-looking frame with long legs and strides when he runs with the football. Flashes impressive ability to pick up yards after the catch and has the speed, and open-field moves to make a big play at any moment’s notice. FBS caliber prospect who will be special at the next level.
Jalen Pope (23′) | 6′ / 180 | WR | Aledo
Pope has quiet a bit of offers already but has not committed yet. some could argue his case for being one of the top play making wide receiver sin the 2023 class yet to commit. He has elite speed and route running ability and a knack for getting open the end zone.

Darrell Gill Jr (23′) | 6-3/ 180 | WR | Atascocita
Darrell is a very raw receiver but has impressed many this season with his size, large catch radius and ability to make his way into the endzone. Runs solid routes, with improvements, could be a an impactful player at the next level. Without a doubt a FBS/FCS caliber prospect.
That’s it for now, if you know of any other athletes that you would like to nominate, list their name, school, and or stats, we would love to know about them.
