Texas High School football playoffs: 2nd Round DFW Players of the Week

Standout Recruits from the 2nd Round of Texas High School football playoffs can be found here. A lot of the top prospects from around the state put on a show, and the second round of playoffs kicked off with a bang.

There was a few upsets and a couple of teams that over came some adversity to will their teams to a win and continue their fight for a shot at a state title.

We give you some of the most impressive recruits performances and stats from across the state of Texas.

 

DFW Recruits of the Week

 

Michael Hawkins (24) QB, Allen
Last Friday, Allen beat Lake Highlands 49-24. Sophomore as 12-18 passing for 354 yards and three touchdowns.

 

Jaylen Jenkins (22) RB, Allen
Boise state commit ,and Allen running back Jaylen Jenkins, ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and also catching 2 passes for 60 yards and a score.

 

Junior Devyn Turner (22) Allen
Turner added 92 yards and two scores on 12 carries to the Allen win. He also contributed one reception for a 38-yard touchdown.

 

Jordyn Tyson (22) Allen
Colorado commit, Jordyn Tyson had six catches for 187 yards.An impressive night for Tyson that showcased his hands and speed as a receiver.

 

Damien Martinez (22) Lewisville
Lewisville defeated Arlington Martin 35-18 and the Oregon State commit did it again this week and had an outshining performance with 239 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 23 carries.

 

Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi (22) QB, Aledo
Aledo beat Frisco Liberty 57-14. The Nevada commit was 10-21 passing for 135 yards on the night.

 

Jason Llewellyn (22 )TE, Aledo
Oklahoma tight-end commit, Jason Llewellyn caught eight passes for 103 yard and one “Moss” like one handed catch that is a must watch below. Llewellyn has been making ESPN worthy highlight reels all season long.

 

Dylan Raiola (24) QB, Burleson
Despite the loss, four-star sophomore quarterback Dylan Raiola still gave forth his best effort with an impressive game being 26-35 passing for 285 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also ran for seven yards and two scores on 10 carries.

 

Garret Rangel (22) QB, Lone Star Frisco
In the loss, four-star Oklahoma State commit Garret Rangel was 18-25 passing for 256 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He added 15 yards and a score on 10 carries to cap of one memorable high school career. Rangel finished his career with 575 completions, 9,083 yards passing, 99 passing TDs.

 

Devin Turner (22) S, WR, Lone Star Frisco
Northwestern safety commit Devin Turner had five catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Jackson Arnold (23) QB, Denton Guyer
Denton Guyer beat Dallas Jesuit 56-7. Four-star junior Jackson Arnold finished 14-18 passing for 351 yards and five touchdowns. He added 34 yards and two scores on five carries.

 

BJ Phillips (22) RB, Denton Guyer
Army commit BJ Phillips ran for 132 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

 

Robert Fitzgerald (22) S, ATH, Dallas Jesuit
Northwestern safety commit Robert Fitzgerald ran for 98 yards on 17 carries. He also had eight catches for 24 yards.

 

Malachi Medlock (22) RB, Duncanville
Duncanville beat Mesquite 52-2. Toledo commit Malachi Medlock ran for 112 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries.

 

Jalen Hale (23) WR, Longview
Five-star junior Jalen Hale caught five passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.

 

Sam Fennegan (22) QB, Melissa
Melissa defeated Midlothian Heritage 50-41. Sam Fennegan was 14-24 passing for 203 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 94 yards and a score on eight carries.

 

Josh Hoover (22) QB, Rockwall-Heath
Rockwall-Heath beat Temple 45-33. Indiana commit Josh Hoover was 22-30 passing for 284 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.

 

Zach Evans (22) RB, Rockwall-Heath
Minnesota commit Zach Evans ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns on 37 carries.

 

Samari Howard (22) RB, Temple
Air Force commit Samari Howard ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries.

 

Jared White (22) RB, Frisco Wakeland
Frisco Wakeland defeated Highland Park 29-28. Jared White ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

 

Brennan Storer (23) QB, Highland Park
In the loss,Storer was 18-29 passing for 274 yards two interceptions. He also ran for 50 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

 

Major Everhart (22) RB, Tascosa
Amarillo Tascosa defeated Burleson Centennial 31-24. TCU commit Major Everhart ran for 282 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries.

 

Qualon Farrar (22) RB, South Oak Cliff 

Qualon Farrar, a North Texas commit, ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.

A’Marion Peterson (23) RB, Hirschi 

Peterson ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns on five carries in the win, Hirschi defeated Clint 53-19 and Peterson was a big part of that reason. Peterson is a three-star running back who has 4 division I offers to schools like Illinois State, Kansas, SMU, and Texas Tech.

 

 

Nathan Jones(22)TE, Brock 

Brock beat Amarillo River Road 54-8 and Minnesota tight end commit , Nathan Jones, was a big part of that out come for Brock’s advancement into playoffs.
