Standout Players in the Aledo Victory over Lone Star Frisco

By:

DFW – The saying is “defense wins championships” and that has been true so far for one of Texas powerhouses in Aledo. Tonight it shined through in their victory over Lone Star Frisco.

Many could argue Aledo came into the game as under dogs and proved to a shock fans early on in the first half. The Aledo offense was clicking on all cylinders with tight-end Jason Llewellyn leading the way for the Bearcats.

The future Oklahoma Sooner in Jason Llewellyn put on a clinic and was catching passes in traffic and making big plays. The best one of the night was a fade pass touchdown in the corner of the end-zone to send Aledo into half time 28-7.

Just seven points giving to the Lone Star offense in the first half made possible by the lockdown defensive backs in the Allen brothers. Defensive back Jaden Allen and Bryan Allen Jr. where locking down receivers and keeping quiet QB Garret Rangel all game long in till the second half.

The Oklahoma State commit had a slow night in the first half and the Lone Star offense just couldn’t find its rhythm. However, that all changed in the second half as they came out swinging, putting points up quickly on the boards. Giving their team the spark their needed to make a comeback.

Rangel was able to lead his team to back-to-back touchdown’s drives very quickly in the second half of the ball game. Throwing for two touchdowns in the 3rd quarter. The Lone Star defense was also able to step up and hold the Bearcats offensively to some quick three and outs.

In the end, It came down to the fourth quarter for these two heavy weights. Lone Star closed the gap 35-38 with 4 minutes left to go in the 4th quarter. The running back for Frisco Lonestar was looking great all game long showing off his speed and athleticism running the ball. The Frisco running back was a leader on offense and showcased elite vision and quickness running in between the tackles.

After those amazing drives quarterbacks Garrett Rangel whent down with an injury with 2 minutes left on the clock in the 4th. The loss of the star QB in fourth quarter didnt take wind out of the sails completely for Lone Star Frisco.

The Lone Star offense was able to drive the ball down the field but unfortunately lost the ball fumbling it back to the Aledo bearcats. Aledo used that momentum in their favor to cap of the game with a long touchdown running play to end the game with a final score of 45-35.

Aledo will continue to look to keep their winning streak alive next week as they face Arlington Heights. As far Lone Star Frisco they will look to rebound next week against Heritage and hope that quarterback Garret Rangel is able to come back healthy, ready to go.
