Spring Season Stock Riser’s: 2023 QB’s

By:

We kick of with the 2023 quarterbacks and will be alternating between random position through out the rest of the month so stay tuned who are some of the top guys making names for themselves and heating up in the 2023 and 2024 classes all April long.

Biggest Risers

Ennis quarterback Jackson Gilkey; no other quarterback has been more on the rise this offseason more than Gilkey. The first offer came last season from Houston, and since a terrific junior season campaign Gilkey as added 8 total division offers from the start of the year all the way in till now. Once a underrated quarterback, no longer in the shadows, word is out that Gilkey is a gunslinger and has the necessary tools as a passer to be dominate at the next level.

The second biggest riser would be Rouse quarterback Mason Shorb, Shorb had no offers at the start of this year, but after a terrific junior season, Shorb was able to make his name known and pick up offers from UTSA and Colorado State before ultimately committing to the UtSA road runners. Shorb will be a special one to watch this season and at the next level for the road runners.

No longer “Under-the-Radar”

Quarterbacks like Foster quarterback JT Fayard; Klein Oak’s Preston Hatter, Cinco Ranches Gavin Rutherford , and Colleyville Heritage’s Weston Smith.

JT Fayard is one prospect quickly on the rise this spring. With trips to universities around the country like Nebraska, Texas A&M, UNT, Texas State, and others. Jt has picked up a lot of interest from colleges around the country. We think his stock will sore through the roof this season and end up on a lot of recruiting boards. Here is what he had to say about his visit to the University of North Texas, “The facilities were very nice and the overall visit was great. The coaching staff were very friendly and I loved seeing them get after it in practice. Coach Q and Coach Bloesch have a great rapport with the QB’s and I like the style of offense they run. It’s similar to my offense at Foster and I can fit in very well over there. I look forward in coming back at camp on June 11th and showing them what I can do.”

Strake Jesuit’s quarterback Bryce Fucik is a prospect that has been quickly emerging on the recruiting scene. With an elite 11 appearance placing in the top six, and visits and invites to UNT, Austin Peavy, Washington State,HBU he has quickly been turning up his recruitment. We last featured Bryce and a few others on their visits to different campses across the country and got there feed back on how the process has been an his recent just to TCU and SMU. “The facilities at both SMU and TCU were top notch! The Campuses were great and I enjoyed having the opportunity to check both schools out. Great coaching staffs and atmosphere at both schools.”

Preston Hatter,Klein Oak’s dual threat quarterback has been on the road this spring with trips and invites to UNT, Sam Houston, HBU,SMU, and others. One severally underrated prospect who could raise his stock with more playing time this season after fighting through the injury bug last year.

For Cinco Ranch, Gavin Rutherford is ones who has seen his recruitment take off this year and for good reason. Not only does Gavin have the necessary tools has amasser but also as a dangerous dual threat with lighting fast speed and agility. On RPO’s Gavin can really hurt defenses because of his athletic ability to bear out in both depaterments running and throwing the football. Since the start of the year Gavins picked up offers from Rice ( his first) , Penn, WKU, and Austin Peavy university. Many are suspected to come this year and season for Cinco Ranches QB that can light them up and holds over 4,000 yards passing and 40 TDs, with only 13 INT’s not to mention the 401 rushing yards and 11 additional rushing touchdowns.

Weston Smith is an underrated quarterback that was flying under the radar for far too long but not anymore. Committed to Princeton university back in February of this year. Before this year not many had heard of the quarterback out of Colleyville heritage, now he is committed and not done drawing interest from others. Smith is a big time gunslinger who has beautiful touch and accuracy on passes deep down the field or in the endzone.
