By:

This spring we are taking a look at some of the top offensive linemen’ stock risers this spring. We have some of the best recruits in the trenches coming up for you this week; talking offensive linemen today and defense tomorrow.

All of these defensive line recruits have seen their recruitment heat up and take off. We shine a light on some of the top 2023 defensive linemen that everyone should know.

Biggest Risers

Fort Bend Marshall’s Zachary Chapman , Manor edge Princewill Umanmielen, Covenant Christian Academy Enow Etta,  Ridge Point’s Dk Kalu , and another Manor defensive linemen in Jayden Cofield.

There are two defensive linemen that come to mind when thinking about the biggest stock risers this spring. In this specific class in the state of Texas, very few others have seen their recruitment sore and take off like the next two names we are fixing to mention in Fort Bend Marshall’s Zachary Chapman, Manor edge Princewill Umanmielen. Both have undoubtedly taken off this spring and have started to draw in offers, and national attention because of the impressive junior season on tape.

Zachary Chapman had only 4 Division I offers at the start of the season respectively; equally worth noting are the flood offers that have come for Chapman this spring. Offers from schools like ULM, TCU, SMU, and Texas Tech, picking up several offers in a short time frame. We suspect the number to continue to rise for Champman who can wreck havoc in backfields with his long lengthy sought athletic frame, Chamopan has the strength, power, and speed to be a dominant player at the next level in college and this season.

In addition to Champan’s success, we couldn’t help but notice another rise to stratum and arguably even more soo than Chapman’s. Many could make an argument that Manor’s edge Princewill Umanmielen is coming for the top spot and looks like his recruitment stock is on the rise significantly, and looks like it will remain that way for the foreseeable future for Umanmielen.

With a unique football name like that, and the athletic ability, coupled with size at a lengthy 6-foot-4 inches, 215ilbs that’s lethal off the edge. It’s no wonder why Princewill has seen a boost in his recruitment picking up a flood of offers. Eleven division I scholarship offers have seemingly come overnight for Princewill who will make your eyes light up when you see him play in person or on film. Colleges are now all fighting for a chance to the front row of Princewill’s top school’s list; which will undoubtedly include a long list of schools across the country. The success comes after being named Co-Defensive linemen of the year as a junior in Texas district 11-5A and additionally earning second-team all-state selection by the Texas Sportswriters Association.

The next linemen up saw his success rise last year earning offers; however, the programs that have been offering Covenant Christian Academy Enow Etta are some of the nation’s most prestigious with respect to all of the others that have been offered, the ones recently that have offered Etta have pushed him into an upper tier of highly rated and highly sought after prospect that has raised his stock this spring. Well, who has offered Etta you might ask: Michigan, LSU, OU, USC, Auburn, Nebraska, and last but certainly, not least the Alabama Crimson tide has also offered.

The next two Ridge Point’s Dk Kalu and another Manor defensive linemen in Jayden Cofield made names for themselves last season and solidified themselves as top defensive line prospects in their class here in the state of Texas. DK Kalu saw his total offers nearly double this year. Picking up five out of his thirteen total division I offers this spring and saw his recruitment take off last spring around this same time. Jayden Cofield didn’t really start picking up scholarship offers until last season after impressing on the field earning Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a junior. Cofield is a massive 6-foot-3 inch, 325ilbs nose tackle that can plug off that offensive line and cause some serious damage in backfields racking up TFLs and sacks.

Stay tuned this week as we finish out the defensive side of the ball of the top 2023 spring season stock rising prospects of Texas High School Football.
