CONVERSE, Tx – I was able to meet up with Judson star wide receiver Anthony Evans and catch up with him about his recruitment and about the coming up season. Anthony is one of the nation’s most highly rated wide receivers in the class of 2023. His rise to stardom has been a process but it all started his sophomore season when Evans was able to turn heads with his elite speed, agility, and being so lethal in his routes. Evans is often able to quickly get over the top of corners because of his speed and many have problems staying stride for stride with the Judson speedy receiver.

Now Evans is on the national recruiting scene and holds 29 division I offers.

Top 4

We asked Evans about his top 4 schools and how it has been narrowing down the list. His top four schools Evans mentioned were ” Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, & Penn State are my top four schools.” Evans later went on to talk about his commitment date which was set for the 26th of August right at the start of the Texas High School football season but that he “might push the date back” Evans said. Anthony is in no rush or hurry to make a decision and definitely wants to make the right decision the first time because of the long-term implications of such a monument choice.

With the wide receiver coaches being one of the main coaches Evans will deal with on a daily bases he was very adamant about taking his time to get to one each one and build relationships with the coaches at his top schools.

“I really want to wait and see who one of the wide reciever coaches are going to be at one of top schools and then take it from there.” Evans said.

Evans is currently ranked as a 4-star athlete and 44th overall in the nation at his position per 247sports composite. In addition to being a football star on the gridiron Evans is also a track star who competes in the long jump and the 200-meter and placed third in the 6A 200-meter with a final of 21.10 as a junior back in May of 2022. Also placed second in the 100-meter with a 10.92. In his career in his two years as a starter on varsity for the rockets, Anthony has compiled 45 receptions that went for 761 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns,
