Today in Texas High School football there are some exciting matchups going on today and as we head into this weekend. We will talk a little about the teams and the top recruits to watch who should prove to have some exciting matchups.
The Woodlands(2-1) vs Katy (3-0)
Game Preview: This should be an interesting matchup as both teams are coming off hot starts to the season. The Woodlands lost a tough battle against a great team in Bridgeland last week and have one of the nations top recruits at quarterback in 2024 Mabrey Mettauer leading the way on offense. Katy’s off to a perfect start and has a start studded cast on both sides of the ball. This should be a good heavy weight match up to watch this week.Katys offense has been lead on the ground by running back Seth Davis and that Katy offensive line. The defense for Katy has been stought this season and has plenty of play makers and division I players all over the field like USC commit linebacker Ty Kana and four-star defensive end Malick Sylla who is commited to playing amongst the 12th man and the Aggies next season.
Tomball (3-0) vs Oak Ridge (1-2)
Game Preview : Tomabll is coming off a perfect start and will look to keep that momentum going this week. That defensive line will be a hard one fo that Oak Ridge offensive line to contain. Leading the trenches for Tomball are some of the top defensive recruits in Colorado State Defensive linemen commit Travis Bates and 6’3″ 2023 edge defender Cavan Tuley who holds multiple interest from schools like Arizona, Arkansas and Connecticut. Oak Ridge has some weapons offensively and will look to rebound this week and play their best football.
Lake Creek (3-0) vs Morton Ranch (2-1)
Game Preview: Morton Ranch is lead by their strong running game on offensive with running back Santana Scott leading the team rushing this season with 278 yards rushing and 3 total touchdowns on the season. On the opposite team for Lake Creek one running back recruits who is emerging and raising his stock this year is senior running back Justin Freeney who has 520 yards rushing this season and 5 total touchdowns. Look for him to be a factor in this game.
