The second week of Texas High School football kicked off with a bang and brought about some exciting matchups and performances by some top Texas talent from around the state. We bring you the top gunslingers, from the Houston area who stood out and are of great starts on the season.
Luke Carney (25′) | 6-1 / 185 | Dallas Christian School
Carney had a successful night on the ground rushing for over 200 yards on 25 carries and throwing one touchdown on the night. Holds multiple interests and has one offer from
Mabrey Mettauer (24′) | 6-6 / 225 | QB | The Woodlands
Mabrey had a spectacular night completing 12 out of 18 of his passes that went for 260 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns on the night. A lot of division I programs have their eyes on Mabrey this season. Has a total of 23 offers at the moment.
Tucker Parks (24) | 6-2 / 200 | QB | Klein Collins
Tucker had an amazing night on the ground and through the air rushing for 152 yards and running in 2 touchdowns, meanwhile also throwing for 187 yards and 2 passing touchdowns leading his team to victory over Dawson 38-14.
Rechuuk Hines (23) | 6-5 / 200 | QB | Dekaney
Hines looked smooth in the pocket delivering sticks downfield with ease throwing for 353 yards passing, and 2 touchdowns leading his team to a close victory over Strake Jesuit 41-38.
Trey Owens (23′) | 6-5 / 200 | QB | Cy Fair
Trey lead his team to a victory and put up plenty of points completing 25 of 28 out of his passes that went for 387 yards through the air and racked up 3 touchdowns.
Brad Jackson (24′) | 5-11 / 165 | QB | Cypress Creek
In a game that would be a shootout, Brad Jackson would impress many on the night throwing for 418 yards and 5 touchdowns completing 32 of 51 of his passes.
Reed Odel (23′) | 6-5 / 200 | QB | Tomball Memorial
In this shoot, our game last Friday night against Cypres Creek, Odel would keep his team in the game all the way to down to the wire in a loss by only two points (56-54). Odel would throw for 418 yards and 6 touchdowns on the night on just 18 completions of 27 attempts. Phenomenal night for the senior QB.
Duece Soloman (24′) | 5-11 / 180 | QB | Dickinson
Soloman just might been finding his rhythm this season for Dickinson. He flashes some impressive velocity on throws and flashed some impressive speed and athleticism running the football leading his team to a victory over Ridge Point 14-0.
JT Fayard (23′) | 6-5 / 205 | QB | Foster
JT flexed his impressive arm strength hitting receivers deep downfield while also showcasing his decision-making ability, timing with receivers, and timing on all of his throws. Leading Foster to win and torching the defense through the air with 427 yards passing and 5 touchdowns.

Bryce Fucik (23′) | 6-2/195 | QB | Strake Jesuit
Despite the close losses, Strake Jesuit QB Bryce Fucik still put on an impressive performance throwing for 401 yards through the air and 4 touchdowns completing 23 out of 30 passes.

Caleb Koger (23′) | 6 / 160 | QB | Katy
Koger has been off to a strong start this season, and in the last game, Caleb helped lead his team in a well-fought victory over Atascocita 35-28. Caleb threw for 200 yards on the night and 2 touchdowns plus running one in on the night as well for a total of 3 touchdowns in Katy’s victory in what seemed like a playoff-type matchup.
