Games of the Week
Frisco Lone Star (7-0) vs Lovejoy (7-0)
Game Preview: This is a heavy-weight matchup as both teams are walking into this one undefeated so far this season. Ladies and gentlemen get the popcorn ready, this could be a shootout as both teams feature high-powered offenses. Lovejoy is led by a young and up-and-coming quarterback in sophomore Alexander Franklin who can torch defenses and has a great arm. Lone Star Frisco has one of the top senior quarterback’s recruits in the state in Oklahoma State commit Garret Rangel.
Rangel is the leader on offense and for good reason, this QB can lead by example. He has accounted for nearly 1,200 yards this season and 12 touchdowns despite missing a few games due to injury. One of his favorite targets and another leader on the Lone Star offense is Boise State commit, senior running back Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty is an explosive playmaker and both will no doubt be a factor in this game.
Southlake Carroll (7-0) vs Eaton (7-1)
Game preview: There will be a lot of division I talent on the field come Friday night. The Southlake Carroll Dragons feature numerous recruits who are FBS caliber athletes on offense and defense. The same could be said for Eaton, as they have multiple highly nationally ranked recruits.
Junior Quarterback Kaden Anderson leads the Dragon high-powered offense that is accompanied by a well-balanced rushing attack with running back Owen Allen leading the way on the ground this season, as well as many other contributors out of the backfield and at wide receiver.
Eaton has some weapons offensively as well in receivers Charles Whitebear and Jaden Platt, both are leaders on the team in receiving and are division I talented football players. This will be an interesting matchup as both teams are evenly matched offensively.
