DFW Top Running backs of Week 2

By:

If you thought the first week of Texas High School football kicked off with a bang, the second week disappoint either. We took a look at some of the top quarterbacks in the area though our numbers and analytics. Many thanks to the high school football coaches that make this possibly by uploading their teams stats for their guys.  Here are some of the top running back recruits in the DFW area performing well into their second week of the regular season.

Owen Allen – Jr, Southlake Carroll  RB

It is amazing to me that this running back does not have any offers or stars at the moment. I think all of that will change very soon after a terrific season last year and a hot start to this one. Allen showcased his talents in the season opener and let every know he is here. He shows terrific vision out of the back field and possesses a solid lean build. One who and can make a few cuts and be off to the races. Also very good catching out of the backfield and can pick up those yards after the catch. He has an elite ability to make people miss and flashes impressive speed and agility. The future is bright for this running back who will undoubtedly start hearing the phone calls coming in from some of the nation’s best.

2021 Stats:42 carries for 332 rushing & 4 TDS

Jamarion Miller – Sr, Tyler Legacy   RB

The Texas Longhorns commit has been going off this season. This running back has amazing balance and speed. Miller can make one or two cuts and be off to the races for six points. Great runner in between the tackles, if there isn’t a hole, Miller will lower his shoulders and make one. Chose to play in the burnt orange in white for Texas over Alabama, Florida , Texas A&M and many others.

2021 Stats:28 carries for 316 rushing with 3 Rush TDS

Jadarian Price – Sr, Denison RB

Price committed to the fighting Irish back towards the beginning of the year in February. The four-star running back has had a impressive career for Denison compiling over 3,000 yards rushing and 37 touchdowns in his career as a four year stater. Price has the cabvaility to take the ball into the Endzone any time he touches the football.

Week 1 Stats:22 carries for 259 yards rushing & 1 Rush TD , 1 Rec TD

Zach Evans – Sr, Rockwall-Heath RB

The future Minnesota Goofers commit has been having himself a season already with over 150 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns to add his team in a well fought game against Southlake Carroll. Evans checks off al of the boxes out of the backfield and will be a terrific back to watch this season.

2021 Stats: 48 carries for 266 yards with 4 Rush TDs

Harry Stewart iii – So, Centennial RB

Harry is one of my favorite running back prospect out of the 2024 class and arguably at the top of the list. In the blink of an eye Stewart can take the football the entire length of the field and be in the endzone before the camera man even knows who has the football. One cut back with elite speed and good size , I like this running back for Centennial and I believe he will be a special one for years to come with multiple division I offers coming down the line for him. The film never lies.

Stats: 40 carries for 273 yards rushing with 1 Rush TDs & 2 Rec TDs

Dejuan Lacy – Jr, North Crowley  RB

Lacy has been impressive to say the least at this point in the season. He’s got some great size and strength and is a very good playmaker.More of a recieving type of running back who its extremely versatile as an athlete that can flash that break-away speed you like to see at his position.

Stats:40 carries for 268 yards rushing with 1TD & 1 Rec TDs

Ashton Jeanty – Sr, Lone Star Frisco WR, RB

One of my favorite running backs on this list who I was fortune to see this past week play in person and boy is this a tough runner. Jeanty can turn something out of nothing, a play that looks like its going for a loss in to positive yardage. I really like the pscyiallitay this running back plays with and also has lethal speed. Holds offers too Boise State, the Ragin Cajuns , North Texas and many others. (14 in total)

Jaylen Jenkins – Sr, Allen

Don’t let the size fool you , this running back will run people over , if they can touch him. Looks like a track star out their on the field. If their is a open hole, Jenkins will find it and exploit it for six points for his team. Love this guys speed, agility and lateral speed. Jenkins will undoubtedly be one of the top prefomering running backs week in and week out in the DFW area. Holds 7 divison I offers to schools like Hawaii, Tulsa and UTSA to name a few.

Stats: 21 carries for 250 yards with 3 Rush TDs

Ahmon Dozier – Sr Royse City RB

Holds one offer from Illinois State, but I think that will change this season as Dozier’s stock counties to rise up the charts. Dozier is very versatile out of the backfield and is dangerous in run and catch situations. He has the speed to take the football to the house but won’t blow anyone away but I like this running back.FBS prospect who will continue to grow and add more to his game.

Stats: 28 carries for 210 yards with 2 Rush TDs &  2 Rec TDs

Iverson Young – Jr, Waxahachie RB

Ismail Mahdi – Sr, Plano East  RB, WR
