Game of the Week
Allen (5-1) vs Guyer (7-0)
This is a heavy-weight matchup you don’t want to miss. These are two teams that are looking primed to go deep into playoffs this year. Both Allen and Guyer have division I talent on both sides of the ball on offense and defense. Guyer is lead by one of the best quarterbacks in the DFW area this season in junior Jackson Arnold.
Arnold is one of the breakout quarterbacks of the year for me who has willed his week after week to victory being down against some of the toughest competition in the area. Guyer to me looks like one of the most well-rounded and talented teams at every position. From senior star wide receiver Jace Wilson to running back BJ Phillips, to that powerful offensive and defensive line and not to mention star DBS in Peyton Bowens, Junior Ryan Yaites, to Marquan Pope, Guyer is loaded.
Allen is just as good if not better on both sides of the ball. The rushing attack out of the backfield is strong thanks to senior running back Jaylon Jenkins and that sought offensive line Allen has. They have some stars along that offensive line like senior OL Neto Umeozulu, who is one of the very few senior offensive linemen that is nationally ranked at the top and still yet uncommitted. He holds 33 Division I offers to power 5 schools.
On the other side of the ball, is star defensive end and brother Zina Umeozulu who is one of the top sophomore edge rusher prospects in the nation standing in at 6’4″ 210. It will be interesting to see which team prevails in this one.
