Central Texas Players of the Week

The first week for some, of the Texas High School football was jammed pack with play. Here are out top recruits who had great performances in central Texas. 

Player of the Week Nominee's

Re’Shaun Sanford (23′) | 5-7, 165 | RB | Harker Heights Houston commit Re’Shaun Sanford ran for 140 yards on 18 carries.

Houston Hendrix (23′) | 6-2, 185 | S | Boerne 

Boerne was victories against Corpus Christi Flour Bluff 35-32, and Air Force safety commit Houston Hendrix  helped them secure that victory with a returned a fumble that went 24 yards for a touchdown.

Cameron Cook (23′) | 5-10, 180 | RB | Stoney Point 

Stony Point shut out Austin High 53-0. Four-star TCU commit Cameron Cook ran for 165 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries. He also caught two passes for 59 yards and another score.

Braylon James (23′) | 6-2, 185 | WR | Stoney Point

Four-star Notre Dame commit Braylon James had three catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.

TJ Andrews (23′) 6-1, 195 | RB | Taft 

San Antonio Taft defeated Victoria East 42-13. TJ Andrews ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. He also had one catch for a 29-yard score.

JC Evans (24′) | 6-5, 200 | QB | Brandeis 

San Antonio Brandeis beat San Antonio O’Connor 27-17. Junior JC Evans was 11-17 passing for 117 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 71 yards and a score on eight carries.

Austin Novosad (23′) | 6-3, 185 | QB | Dripping Springs 

Dripping Springs defeated Austin Vandegrift 23-20. Four-star Baylor commit Austin Novosad was 18-30 passing for 247 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Garon Duncan (23′) |6-1, 195 | WR | Dripping Springs 

Wide receiver Garon Duncan had a great night and caught nine passes that went for 140 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Paxton Land (24′) | 6-3, 200 | QB | Westlake 

Austin Westlake beat Fort Bend Ridge Point 44-14. Quarterback Paxton Land was 8-12 passing for 106 yards and two touchdowns on the night.

Jack Kayser (24′) | 5-8, 170 | RB | Westlake 

Junior running back Jack Kayser ran for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries on the night. Note worthy the season Jack has before last rushing for over 1,100 yards on the ground. This year could be no different. He also has the ability to be a threat catching the football out of the backfield. 

Mason Shorb (23′) | 6-2, 175 | QB | Rouse 

Despite the loss, UTSA commit Mason Shorb was 27-46 on the night and racked up 301 yards passing through the air, three touchdowns, although throughing three interceptions also on the night.

Johnathan Johnson (23′) |6′, 165 | WR | Judson

A possible breakout wide receiver on the year for Judson was the  electric play of Johnson on the night. Johnson flashed amazing speed through out the night and impressive hands, and route running. 

Ty Hawkins (25′) |  6′, 185 | QB | Johnson 

Hawkins displayed elite athleticsm through out the game and helped his team to over time and kept them in the fight despite the loss on the night. Hawkins is a recruit to know this season.
