ALEDO,TX. – One of the top-ranked defensive backs in the state of Texas, that is ranked nationally as well in Aledo’s Jaden Allen has decommitted from the University of Texas and re-opened to his recruiting
Allen took to Twitter mid-Saturday afternoon to make the announcement “I will be opening my recruitment back up and de-committing from the University of Texas” Allen said.

This announcement comes after two offers from the University of Houston, a visit, and an offer from the University of Alabama. Could just be a coincidence, but Allen just is just coming off the heels of a visit to meet with coach Saban, and a photo shoot on his visit.

The crimson tide and Saban could be coming after one of Texas’s best corner recruits with a late offer, and Jaden might be wasting no time in taking advantage of the love and opportunity. Jaden is one of our top-ranked and rated corners in the class of 2024 in Texas. He ranked NO.2 and for good reason. Jaden has a ton of potential to be an immediate success and contributor at the next level for any program including some of the very best programs that are consistently in the hunt for championships like Alamaba.
Older brother Bryan Allen is still on the University of Texas roster. Bryan was a class of 2022 commit and also one of the best in his class. Many could be shocked that both brothers will most likely not be on the same team as originally planned. Alabama had also offered the older brother of Jaden also but, Bryan decided to stay in state and take his talents to play for the new staff under coach Sarkisian. Either way it will be interesting to see if Alamba will be the next place Jaden will call his future home or he could be riding this thing out to gain more offers after the terrific junior season and buzz Allen generated for himself. More offers will undoubtedly come in and or we could be seeing a flip to another university already mentioned in the near future. Our evaluation of Jaden of what a college program would be getting in the star cornerback.
Evaluation
Jaden Allen (24) | 5-11 / 160 | CB | Aledo
Allen has long arms and an athletic-looking frame and can pay press or float of receivers and bait quarterbacks to throw his way, and then drive in front of the football to make a play. Allen shows great awareness of the field, and instincts with a knack for coming up with the football. Plays very physically within route with receivers, and who possesses tons of potential as a jammer cornerback with big hit ability blaze downhill and lay the lumber on ball carriers absolutely lighting them up. We loved his cover skills and technique over many others. Should be special at the next level, and could see immediate playing time in the future.
