HOUSTON – Klien Cain improves to 5-1 on the season after this victory against Tomball Memorial. A victory in which Klein Cain came out the gates swinging for the fences. Leading the offense was quarterback Carson Roper for the Klein Cain offense.
Roper and company can nickel and dime you downfield or gash defenses for big plays down the field. This QB was showing why he is a true dual-threat QB that is raising his stock this year with his play. It’s going through the roof. He has got an amazing arm, flashes impressive speed and agility, really good size at 6’3″ 185. This is a QB that is very impressive, to say the least, and a true dual-threat that can torch defenses.
The combination of the running game plus the areal attack between Rooper and star wide receiver and TCU commit Matthew Golden, lead to an early lead in the first half. Carson was able to lead his team to over 21 points at the end of halftime by running one in and throwing for a touchdown, both over 30 yards plus.
Tomball Memorial just couldn’t get things going offensively although stringing together a few good drives offensively and some turn vers on defense. Tomball just couldn’t find its rhythm early on in the game and let Klein Cain have all of the momentum. That Klien Cain offensive line has looked strong this season with sophomore standout recruits Gibson Pyle racking up a few pancakes in the game.
A running back that stood out in the game was when one other went down. Ramir McCray, Klien Cains starting running back when down early in the game and he is one who has been having a tremendous season thus far. However, fellow senior running-back Drew Stokes stepped right in and didn’t skip a beat. Stokes highlighted his abilities to find open holes and hit them with speed. I really liked this running back was able to run the ball and pick up good yardage for the Cain offense.
As for Tomball Memorial, they will look to rebound next week as they fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in District play. Next week they will face Klein at home. Klein Cain will Klien Forst and look to keep their 4-0 winning streak alive as they advance to 2nd place in District play.
MVP of the Game
Matthew Golden (22) | WR, #2 | Klein Cain
Matthew was going off in this game and had some electrifying plays to spark that Klein Cain offense all night long. The future TCU wide receiver was showing all night long why he is top-tier talent and next-level ready. He showed very strong routes and came up with some big-time catches down the field to put his team on top. Earning him a spot as our MVP of the game. This decision didn’t come lightly because the man that was slinging him the rock wasn’t half bad in the game as well. Talking about Quarterback Carson Rooper who together with Golden absolutely played lights out to earn the dub.
