DFW – This was a heavy weight matchup that felt very much like playoff football. The Denton Guyer football team just looked like the complete package offensively and on defense.
Guyer’s offensive line is a talented unit, they can really move the pile and showed some great pass protection throughout the game. Atascocita’s offensive line doesn’t look bad either, with five star offensive linemen Kam Dewberry being a leader on that line opening up holes for a three headed monster running back group for Atascocita.
Quarterback Gavin Sessions had a tremendous outing making some nice throws proving why he is a recruit to know this season. All of his his passes show velocity on throws over the middle of the field, and out routes to receivers. Sessions can really sling the football and rifle the ball into some tight windows. A dual-threat who I think could raise his recruiting stock this season.
Denton Guyer proved to have better quarterback play at the end of the night putting up more points with junior quarterback Jackson Arnold leading the way. Arnold didn’t have any easy job facing a tough Atascocita defense. Arnold is our Player of the Game who really showcased his elite ability to throw the football and find open receivers. This is a top-tier FBS prospect who will be a special one to watch this season.
Atascocita didn’t make the win easy for Denton Guyer. Offensively they have so many weapons to choose from as well as on the defensive side of the ball. One wide receiver who is really making his name know is multi-sport athlete (football & baseball) wide receiver Chase Sowell. Only two offers at the moment for Sowell but after a few more impressive performances like tonight, that number could very well increase by the end of the season.
