By:

We take a look at an exclusive group of some of the top defensive tackles and edge rushers in the class of 2024 in Texas. Here are some of the top prospects that you may or may not have heard of yet but undoubtedly will this fall. Keep an eye out for the following prospects who will be making their way into backfield’s this fall.

Brock Jackson (24) | 6-3, 225 | Edge | Lumberton

Brock could easily be at the top of his class by this time next year. He is an elite edge and linebacker prospect with terrific height and a lenghty frame; he looks very athletic looking, and one who can stand up or put his hand in the dirt or stand up and dominate. He is a lethal edge rusher that flashes great speed and tremendous strength disengaging from blockers;  is one who could raise his stock significantly on a lot of recruiting boards across the country this year.

Alex January (24) | 6-4, 315 | DL | Duncanville

Alex is a big body that can plug up the interior of that defensive line and is a monster of a run-stopping defender. Alex shows some very impressive strength, speed, and athleticism for a big guy, with a strong bull rush that can help him make his way easily into the backfield. He makes racking up TFL’s and sacks look easy. Holds 7Division I offers from schools like Arizona, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Toledo, and Tulsa.

Ashton Coker (24) | 6-3, 270 | DL | Taylor

Interior defensive linemen who can get after the QB with great speed and strength. Loved his athleticism getting to the quarterback and plugging up the gaps along with that interior of the defensive line. Plays hard and makes plays in the trenches. Special Division I talented recruit in Coker

Edward Smith (24) | 6-6, 220 | DL | Dawson

Edward could be next up, one that could very easily explode onto the scene and become one of the top-ranked and recruited defensive ends in his class; why you might ask? His size, at 6’6, makes him an elite defensive end prospect with terrific height and frame length with tons of space to add mass, but not only that his ability to maintain a low pad level and get after the QB is phenomenal. Can fly blockers in the blink of an eye or beat them with strength. Can play multiple techiness and cover all of the gaps. FBS prospect who will be special at the next level.

Loghan Thomas (24) | 6-4, 210 | Edge | Paetow

Logan is a beast off the edge and shows he can be very is explosive off the edge for Paetow. Thomas is explosive out of his stance, with great speed and agility that has the next-level size and skills to be a dominant force getting after the quarterback for the panthers; Also can play multiple positions along the defensive line. FBS caliber prospect with a high ceiling.

Zhaiylen Scott (24) | 6-2, 215 | Edge, LB | Cedar Hill

Scott could be one elite edge rusher prospect that is flying under the radar at the moment but could take off this fall. He is one worthy of keeping an eye on and one who flashes impressive speed of the edge with great strength, and agility; the pass-rushing ceiling is very high and is dangerous when isolated on the edge. Should he continue to grow and add more mass he could raise himself a lot of recruiting boards and rankings.
